Finally I could post this!
This was for ceylmallyn at the Slayers secret santa event at the slayers LJ community: [link]
Her request was something related to the Kouma War and I found that extremely interesting. So, I drew the five Mazoku Lords under Shabranigdu. From left to right: Dynast, Gaav, Phibrizzo, Zelas, Dolphin. Dynest is not official and is drawn from imagination and some help from a silhouette drawing from Araizumi-sensei.
I made it mostly black and white bec. using real colors would be a nightmare. However I did use that to my advantage and accented few colors on the drawing, like the eyes and the jewels. Then I added a slight marroon tint on the smoke to create that ominous war feel. I'd say more but i'm tired and I forgotten what I else I want to say.

Overall Vision
Originality Technique ImpactVery pretty!
But, prettiness aside, you wanted a critique and a critique you shall receive!
Lets do this section by section
Background: Simple yet very elegant. The faded red and black contrasts nicely with the bright white. The shards or petals (I can't really tell) floating in the foreground also contrast nicely with the dark rocks.
Dynast: Personally, Dynast seems a little...squished to me, at least around the face anyways. It may just be the helmet but the eyes appear to be a little too close together.
Gaav: Again, a little distortion here with the smile, it throws off the face and breaks the image slightly.
Phibrizzo: Excellent! Captured the creepy little brat almost perfectly! Personally, I think the eyes could stand to be a little smaller, but it still looks bloody amazing.
Zelas: I was floored by this imagining of the Greater Beast Master Zelas. The sword seems a tad bit impractical, but then again I have to remember that this is anime, and not everything has to be real world practical. My favorite pieces of Zelas would have to be the cigarette and its smoke, and the fact that aside from the eyes and jewels, her lipstick is the only color on any of the characters.
Dolphin: I love the bubbles, I will freely admit that I have absolutely no idea who Dolphin is (bad Slayers fan that I am) So I cannot honestly tell if you were true to the character or not. On an art level, she seems the most simplistic of the character designs, but that lends to a sort of elegance with her.
Breakdown of Scoring:
Vision: As far as I know, only 2 of the 5 lords actually appeared, so you were working from your own imagination. And even the ones who were shown appear slightly differently here. 5/5
Originality: Sorry, but I can never give fan art a full 5/5 simply on the fact that it is FAN-art. That being said, you imagined 3 of the characters yourself and re-imagined the other 2. 4/5
Technique: Good use of your abilities and equipment. 4.5/5
Impact: Ah, the hardest section to score. I do believe you made your point and vision rather clearly, but I do also believe that there are areas in which you could tighten up your art slightly in order to give a little more punch. 4.5/5
Overall Score: 18/20
